1000 Years of Mind Wandering

Saturday night at Joe's Pub. Banana Bag & Bodice's production of Beowulf - A Thousand Years of Baggage and the second of Black Francis's three weekend solo sets.

During his set, Black Francis reconceived Where is My Mind, delivering a slow-paced six-plus minute version over a miniature pump organ and restrained guitar attack, a self conscious, yet completely engaged re-imagining of the song that simultaneously recognized it as a classic while delivering something completely new. And that's pretty much what Banana Bag and Bodice did to Beowulf.
