Can't Get There From Here

This is the very first drawing I ever did of a dancer:

And this is from this week's New Yorker:

I was actually in the dressing room getting dressed when this came through on my blackberry. I have to say, it made the drawing better, sort of inspired me. Thanks, Jonny!

Uhm . . .it went really well, by the way (thanks, Jonny!). Except, at the party afterwards a lot of people had no idea that I had done the drawing live during the show. They thought it was videotaped earlier. Also I sucked at flirting.

Also, curtain call freaked me out a little. Forgot what it's like to take a bow afterwards. Awkward, deer in headlights sort of thing. I'm sure no one noticed.

Best of broken legs to you! I'm not getting out much these days but I wish I could come see this.

Dear People,
Troy, Huck and I got to see a version of the show today and we are here to tell you that it is REALLY wonderful!! Having Michael's drawing happening up on the wall as the dancers do their thing is one of the coolest things ever. It kept the attention of a two year old, and you can't say that about very many other things in this world. Well, ice cream and lizards, sure. But other than that, nothing beats Michael's gigantic hand with magic things coming out of it. (twmlds) I think every single performance of anyone ever should include Michael drawing for all of us to see. If only I had my camera.
Love,
Jonny

I'm convinced. Can he draw the band at my cousin's bar-mitzvoh?
