Re-Routed

So, the F train is only running in portions, weekends and late night until late November--change at Hoyt-Schermerhorn (climb the stairs and cross to the opposite platform for the Crosstown G to Coney Island--don't accidentally get on the Manhattan-bound F). Also, the A is running local because there is no C on the weekends. The 4 isn't working on the weekends either. The Upper level of the Manhattan Bridge is now closed and they're still doing the bottleneck at either end of the Brooklyn Bridge; expect delays.

And how was your weekend?

it's a good night at the theatre when i can leave early enough to not have to go to hoyt-schermerhorn. it's a bad night when i get out at jay street at ten minutes to midnight only to have to get back on to the a/c when the f never comes. and the signs at the station have mostly been ripped down, so i end up passing the bad news on to several other tired straphangers.

of course, having the g run on the f line means i can get to and from williamsburgh on the weekend without a transfer. makes me less willing to turn down offers to socialize.

That's totally true--makes the Williamsburg trek so much more appealing . . .

But, honestly--why does the MTA hate us so?

You should make yer fancy Broadway producers pony up for a cab-ride home. That's what the Kennedys would do . . .

unless my name is directly above or below the title the producers don't give a damn about me. such is the life!
